The Process

1. Dialogue & Contract

Planning and Design:

  1. Identify your needs and desires for the new Hagens Home, including size, number of rooms, layout, style, and budget.
  2. Work with architects and engineers to develop a floor plan and design that meets your requirements and complies with local building codes and regulations.
  3. Discuss material choices, including timber types, insulation, and other building materials.

 

Building Permits:

  1. Obtain permits and approvals from the relevant authorities to begin construction. This may include planning and building permits as well as other necessary permits depending on your location.

2. Construction Start

Site Preparation:

  1. Prepare the construction site by clearing the area of trees, brush, and other obstacles.
  2. Perform any necessary earthwork, including leveling and filling or excavation as needed.

 

Foundation Construction:

  1. Build the foundation for your timber house. This may be a concrete slab, crawl space, or basement, depending on your preferences and the characteristics of the building site.
  2. Ensure the foundation is solid and level to provide a stable base for the new house.

 

Frame Construction:

  1. Construct the frame of the house by erecting timber posts, beams, and columns according to the approved building plans.
  2. Install floor, wall, and roof joists, as well as structural beams and supports as needed.

 

Wall and Roof Construction:

  1. Assemble timber walls and roof framing by placing timber studs, nailing and fastening panels, insulation, and vapor barrier as required.
  2. Build the roof structure by installing rafters, roof decking, and roofing materials such as shingles, tiles, or metal panels.

3. "Rejsegilde"

This is a tradition in Danish construction where a celebration is held when the roof is completed. It signifies that the construction has reached an important milestone and brings together the builders, designers, and future homeowners to celebrate the progress made.

4. Making your home - "Your Home"

Plumbing and Electrical Installations:

  1. Carry out plumbing installations, including piping, drains, plumbing fixtures, and heating systems.
  2. Perform electrical installations, including wiring, outlets, light fixtures, and circuit breaker panels in compliance with building codes and regulations.

 

Wall and Roof Cladding:

  1. Attach exterior cladding to walls and roof by fastening outer cladding materials such as timber panels, siding, roof panels, or roofing tiles.

 

Interior Finishing:

  1. Complete interior finishing by installing drywall, timber paneling, flooring, doors, windows, and trim.
  2. Paint or stain interior surfaces as needed to achieve the desired appearance.

 

Finalization and Inspection:

  1. Complete any remaining finishing tasks such as installing fixtures, kitchen and bathroom equipment, and other final touches.
  2. Schedule inspections of the finished house to ensure everything is installed correctly and complies with applicable building codes and regulations.

5. Handover

Completion and Handover:

  1. Make final adjustments and finishes to prepare the house for handover.
  2. Hand over the completed Hagens Home to the owner and complete any necessary paperwork and documentation.

 

Property Maintenance and Care:

  1. Maintain and care for your Hagens Home by performing regular maintenance and repairs to ensure its long-term durability and functionality.
  2. Warrenty?
